Mission and Vision

The Chicago Professionals for Easter Seals (CPES) was developed to provide professionals in Metropolitan Chicago with a forum that fosters professional development, community service and social awareness. This developing force is composed of Chicagoland’s future leaders and young professionals (22-40 years) committed to supporting and promoting the mission of Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago (ESMC) through social and civic engagement.

The CPES earnestly believes in our members and we strive to develop programs that encourage individual members’ personal, professional and civic growth. We encourage members to achieve balance in their lives as they work to strengthen their communities. We pride ourselves on diverse professional backgrounds and aim to share our experiences, learn from each other and unite our community through active involvement.

“Your life and mine shall be valued not by what we take…but by what we give.” - Edgar Allen, founder of Easter Seals

Membership

The qualifications of membership are an interest in the mission of the CPES and a willingness to be an active participant in the group’s work. Each member is encouraged to attend all CPES events and meetings and serve on a minimum of one committee.

Committees

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is focused on recruiting new members to the CPES. The Membership Committee is responsible for coordinating membership drives, initiatives and recruitment activities. The Membership Committee works in conjunction with the Secretary to maintain timely, accurate, and proper documentation of all current members including a detailed contact database.

Fund & Development Committee

The Fund & Development Committee is responsible for raising the necessary revenue to sustain the CPES’ annual operations, establish a reserve account (when possible) and make an annual contribution, on behalf of the CPES, to ESMC to support the organization’s mission of strengthening the community.

Public Relations & Marketing Committee

The Public Relations & Marketing Committee builds and maintains the CPES brand to several key strategic markets. The Public Relations & Marketing Committee develops and cultivates relationships with local media to further the mission of the CPES. The Public Relations & Marketing Committee creates and produces marketing materials for both the CPES and its events. The Public Relations & Marketing Committee maintains a collection of any and all marketing materials, including but not limited to letterhead, fliers, logos and website.

Professional Empowerment Committee

The Professional Empowerment Committee creates and runs a collection of workshops, networking events, and panel discussions geared toward the professional empowerment of CPES members. Realizing the diversity of the professional backgrounds of CPES members, the Professional Empowerment Committee creates a curriculum that shares valuable experiences and promotes collective development.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of the CPES is comprised of Officers who oversee the direction and annual strategic goals of the group. The Executive Committee works with the Development Staff of ESMC to develop these goals. The Executive Committee works with all committees to ensure completion of goals.

Where We’re Going
