Donate Your Vehicle to Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago

What can I donate?
We accept most cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RV’s, in running condition or not.

How do I claim my tax deduction?

Claimed Value up to $500
If you are claiming up to $500 for your vehicle, the IRS will allow you to arrive at that figure on your own. Additionally, you will receive a donor acknowledgement from Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago.

Claimed Value Greater than $500
If you are claiming over $500 for your vehicle, the IRS will allow you to claim the gross proceeds from Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago’s sale of your vehicle. Gross proceeds exclude towing expenses and other fees.

Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago works with licensed car dealers and only resells cars on a wholesale basis. Wholesale prices are typically 15% to 20% lower than retail prices.

The following factors may affect the sale price of your car…and consequently the amount you can claim as a deduction:

Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago will mail you a donor acknowledgement within 30 days of the sale stating the gross proceeds.

When will the car be picked up?
You will be contacted by the towing service within four business days to schedule a pick up time.
