- Providing Early Head Start services to infants and toddlers six weeks through two years of age and their families living in Chicago
- Collaborating with and located on the campus of National Teachers Academy (NTA), a Chicago Public School serving pre-K through 8th grade
- Providing the opportunity for families to transition their child into NTA’s full-day preschool program when the child reaches the age of three

- Early Head Start (center based and home based)
- Prevention Initiative “Total Learning Continuum” which supports
the social-emotional development of infants and toddlers
Services Provided
Center Based
- Child must be six weeks through two years of age at time of program entry
- Full-day, year-round child care from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Caring, qualified, experienced teachers and low staff-to-child ratio
- Pre-literacy based curriculum and individualized lesson planning
- Breakfast, lunch and snack provided
- Inclusive setting for children with and without disabilities
- Comprehensive program includes health, nutrition, parent involvement and family support services
Home Based
- Serves pregnant women and children birth through two years of age
- Parents and children receive weekly home visits by early care and education professionals
- Monthly group activities
- Comprehensive program includes health, nutrition, parent involvement and family support services
To Qualify
- Meet the Head Start Income Guidelines
- For center based, parent(s) must be working or in school/training, qualify
for the Childcare Assistance Program and pay an income based co-payment
Special Events
- Celebration of the "Week of the Young Child" annually in April
- Free one-day symposium, open to parents and professionals,
“Supporting the Social-Emotional Development of Children Birth to Five” annually in June
